Meet Sean Ireton
NUINSPIRATION'S FOUNDER & MEN'S IMAGE CONSULTANT
I was 280lbs and learning how to make websites in high school. While I loved working behind the screen, my weight struggle was certainly not enjoyable. I felt terrible all the time, I was self-conscious and I wore oversized clothes to try and hide my weight. It was a typical fat kid story.
So, I decided enough is enough, and I started focusing on my fitness. I avoided pizza, soda, candy bars and other junk food like the plague, ran three or more miles at least four times per week, and lost about 60lbs in just a few months. I was on top of the world and I continued to hone my craft in website design, eventually earning a full-tuition scholarship to The Art Institute of California — Sacramento, where I got my Bachelor's Degree in Web Design in 2012.
While that was an exciting and worthwhile adventure in discovering my talents, I found after working in the industry for 5+ years, it's really not what I wanted to do with my future. I walked into work every day loathing my career path, only looking forward to seeing the people I work with and exploring the friendships I created through the camaraderie that the industry fostered. Sitting in front of a computer screen for 8 or more hours per day literally damaged my vision to a degree, giving me an astigmatism. I'm not playing victim here, but simply stating that it was starting to affect my health.
During my unknowingly final years in web design, I finally overcame frustrations of being a young single male. For a lot of guys, talking to women and attracting them is hard, and getting a relationship with them is another, usually worthwhile, challenge on its own. I updated my social skills and personal style, and I eventually approached and found a woman named, Erika, through positive and respectful conversation. I attracted her, earned her respect, and was able to get a first date with her. "Whoo hoo!", I said, "I can't wait to go out with this beautiful, fun, intelligent girl!" It felt amazing.
After some time, she became my girlfriend and a very supportive one. She found a part-time opportunity for me to pursue that would garner my true passions of working with people, coaching guys with useful insight based on my personal experiences, and giving them the gift of life-changing style. I started providing men with custom, made-to-measure clothing through the brand, J.Hilburn. Business was great and still is! I loved measuring and styling my friends and family, then started getting clients outside of my family and social circle. It was all great and I was crushing my sales goals, but something was still missing, and that was providing more value than just great garments. Thus, inspired the creation of Nuinspiration's consulting services in 2014.
It wasn't all red roses though, because so much more had to be done in order to make it successful. It took years to develop the services that help my clients today, and is a constant challenge, but provides exciting growth opportunities for myself and others. Through plenty of trial and error with clients, the stress of starting my business part-time with one foot out the door in web design, learning new material, and finding new ways to add value, I've discovered that men deserve to be extraordinary. But the story doesn't end there, there's still more guys like you who need my help, and the work won't stop until I leave The Earth...
To Mars, where Elon Musk will have created a new, intergalactic civilization. Only then will I retire alongside my beautiful wife, Erika looking back on all the adventures we've experienced together.
