I love this (fairly) new brand of sunglasses, and you should too.

Love the story behind the brand, and love the products even more.

Enter L.G.R. An eyewear brand that respects classic tastes, yet adapts the tastes to modern applications. Founded in 2007, L.G.R. was created by Italian, Luca Gnecchi Ruscone after visiting an optics shop owned by his grandfather in African city, Asmara. In that shop, he found a pair of imported Italian sunglasses that had shown up there 50 years earlier.

After returning to Italy, people loved the sunglasses so much they asked how and where to get the frames. Because of the high demand, he decided to start his own business, re-opened doors to the found frames' original factory—which closed in 1968—and manufactured four pairs of frames using the same artisan methods that made the 1930 originals so special. Ever since, the L.G.R. brand has introduced selections heavily inspired by the pair Luca discovered in Africa in 2006.

I love the different collections because the eyewear is so cleanly cut, and have beautiful proportions. They're also made in Italy, which like most Italian brands, it's usually safe to say that the manufacturing is wholeheartedly respected and you can expect high quality products. Nairobi is a frame that every active, stylish gentleman or lady should have in their wardrobes; perfect for leisurely outdoor activities like fishing, flying, or boating.

  • 6 layers of antireflex coating, interior
